There is no doubt that Plus Model Magazine is a leading source in the plus size fashion industry. Last week, the magazine’s You Tube channel premiered a campaign video encouraging all of their fellow curvy fashionistas to demand fashion for the curvy girl.

Remember a couple of weeks ago when fellow blogger Monique from Curves and Chaos started an anspiring petition to plus size retailers to use models that were more like us.. well it seems that although the road is long and the process has a very long way to go, I am proud that every now and then there is a retailer that challenges what is acceptable marketing and pushes the limits.Â
A few days ago, plus model Asia Mone’t was announced as the new face for Le Mystere’s Captivating Curves full fit collection. Asia is the first plus size model and “G” cup to be featured in the collection.Â

Now would we be “The Page 6 of All Things Curvy” if we did not bring you the latest things happening… of course not!
While browsing the internet I ran into something quite fabulous – Project Curve Appeal! Project Curve Appeal defines itself as movement – ‘to empower, educate and movitate the curvy queens’. And I must admit, it looks like a lot of fun! Â
When I first started my research on the site, I thought they were a plus size model agency; looks are definitely deceiving. While they do host the Face of Curve Appeal model call, they seem to have a few other things going on as well. Project Curve Appeal will be hosting ”A Mini Face Camp & Competition” on December 12 – 13th, 2009 in Atlanta, Ga along side of the Pink Christmas Expo & Fashion Show. For more information on Project Curve Appeal, The Pink Christmas Expo or on becoming a FOCA go here.

Did any of us really believe it would end with the Full Figure Fashion Week?!?!! Well of course not. And I am excited to see that Ms. Gwen Devoe is planning on ringing in the last quarter of the year with her signature plus-size model bootcamp “Ready to Runway”. Ready to Runway is a intense 4-hour workshop that allows aspiring and working plus-size models to perfect a catwalk that will leave their audience in awe. Registration for the workshop is $100.00 prior to October 15th.
