SKORCH the Runway is an explosive fashion experience showcasing ladies in a Victoria’s Secret style fashion show event. The sexiest curvy women on the planet will rock the fierce fashion, represent classy ladies, and work out every curve in the most scandalous swimwear as we SKORCH The Runway in our 4″ stilettos!

Casting for this show is being provided exclusively by House of Curves. HOC is conducting a virtual casting for 50 of the fiercest plus size models across the globe to SKORCH the Runway for this one of a kind and ground breaking experience. Professional and agency models are welcome.

OPEN SUBMISSIONS:
Virtual casting through House of Curves begins on May 12th, 2010 and will conclude Monday June 21, 2010.

CASTING REQUIREMENTS:
In order to submit to the virtual casting you must meet all of the following requirements.

AboutCurves.com has always prided itself on using photos of “real women” with real plus size bodies on their website. If you’re a woman who would enjoy modeling beautiful plus size lingerie you’ll want mark your calendar for June 6, 2010, when they will continue the tradition by hosting a photo shoot near Baltimore, Maryland.

The shoot will focus on new plus size lingerie that they will be adding to their store, as well as some from their exclusive Signature Collection and updating photos of some older intimate apparel products. The online store now offers over 300 different products, including traditional babydolls, plus size corsets and bustiers, nightgowns, bodystockings, chemises, camisole sets, and teddies, as well as robe sets and plus size wedding lingerie. A new expanded line also includes costumes, body products, feather products, and shoes.

Owner Robin Bryan-Culver says, “We always look forward to these photo shoots, because we get to see how our new items look on different plus size women. And the women we use as models love trying on all the different lingerie. Many of them have never modeled before.” In the past, AboutCurves.com has used women from a wide range of professions, including a teacher, a banker, a graduate student, and a corporate COO. They also accept applications from aspiring plus size models.

Models must be at least 18 years old and at least a size 16; the company prefers women who fit into the 1X-2X range and are at least 5’7”. Models selected for the event will receive TFP plus additional compensation based on experience. No travel provided, so models should live in the Maryland area.

Women interested in applying should send in a head shot, a full body shot, and information including name, age, dress size, height, previous experience, and current location to models(at)aboutcurves(dot)com.

Faith 21 is looking for a new face of their plus size line. If you are not familiar with Faith 21, its Forever 21′s plus size line.  We have yet to do a review on the Curvy Spot but we will bring that soon.  Mia Tyler which is someone I love is going to be one of the guest Judges as well.   The Model search is open to ages 16+ (please understand if you are 16,17 yrs of age you need your parents or guardians permission!!!)

All entries must be in by 11/18/09 and the winner will receive

• – A photo shoot with Faith 21 to take place at Forever 21′s corporate headquarters in Los Angeles, California. The photos from that shoot will be used by Forever 21 in an upcoming Faith 21 campaign, and be promoted online.
• – Airfare for two to Los Angeles from anywhere in the United States, and hotel accommodations for two in Los Angeles upon arrival. Forever 21 will also pay for ground transportation from the hotel to the photo shoot and back.

While browsing the internet I ran into something quite fabulous – Project Curve Appeal!  Project Curve Appeal defines itself as movement – ‘to empower, educate and movitate the curvy queens’.  And I must admit, it looks like a lot of fun!  

When I first started my research on the site, I thought they were a plus size model agency; looks are definitely deceiving.  While they do host the Face of Curve Appeal model call, they seem to have a few other things going on as well.  Project Curve Appeal will be hosting ”A Mini Face Camp & Competition” on December 12 – 13th, 2009 in Atlanta, Ga along side of the Pink Christmas Expo & Fashion Show.  For more information on Project Curve Appeal, The Pink Christmas Expo or on becoming a FOCA go here.

PLUS Model Magazine is launching its first Model Search at the Love Your Body Day event in LA on October 24th. They are looking for models local to the West Coast area who are not signed with an agency and are between size 10 and 18, height 5’7 to 6’0 and ages 18 to 25. Five finalists will be chosen to compete for the ultimate prize.
