Hungry by Crystal Renn
Crystal Renn a NYC based plus size model born in 1986. At 15, she wanted to be a model when an agent told her she needed to lose 9 inches off her hips, so she did. She’s 5’8” and went from 175 to 95 pounds. She continued to grow a few more inches and moved to New York to become a model. She developed an eating disorder and it took her years to recover.Since then Crystal re-emerged a plus size model.
In her book Hungry, Crystal talks about her life, her weight, and her journey in modeling. Known as he only plus-size model to appear on a Harper’s Bazaar cover. Crystal has enjoyed lucrative contracts with many high-profile plus-size clothing manufacturers such as Lane Bryant, Evans and Torrid.
Crystal is also featured in People Magazine’s August 31st issue (article below) which is on newsstand’s next week. Her book Hungry will be in stores September 8, 2009.
